Featured Reviewers.

Where once there was only a few online reviewers of wine to choose from there are now some hundreds. Some are completely independent, others have a bias towards particular wines, just a few are not as independent as they may seem.

As you might expect we at the Old Forge Wine Cellar take considerable interest in what the reviewers are saying about wines that we stock and have found that these reviewers among others give consistently fair appraisals of wines in a clear and succinct manner.

Tom Cannavan's site and newsletter have a loyal and growing following here in the UK. His excellent web site is vast but easy to navigate. We particularly like the features and the guest columnists.

Natalie MacLean, named the World’s Best Drink Writer 2003 at the World Food Media Awards, is probably the most glamorous reviewer we know and her Free Wine Newsletter is required reading here.

Wine picks, articles and humour from Natalie are yours for free. There are no ads and all e-mail addresses are kept confidential. To sign up, visit www.nataliemaclean.com.

New: Amateur Reviewers.

We though it would be fun and give a 'man-in-the-street' view of wines if we asked business colleagues and restaurant customers to review a wine. So each month we will be presenting some lucky person with a decent bottle of wine with the only catch being that they have to drink it and write a review!

They may be a Guest Host from one of our food and wine evenings, a wine maker (not allowed to review their own wines) or perhaps a well known personality.

Go to this page to see what they have to say!
